After almost a decade

of upskilling local and

emerging farmers on

strong , sustainable

practices , growers will be

well - positioned to supply

high - quality barley to our

newest malthouse when

it opens in South Africa in

2027 . The facility will be

the most technologically

advanced in South Africa

and is designed with

eff icient technologies and

a clear understanding of

local needs .

As the global transition to green energy

accelerates , it is increasingly clear

that countries will move at different

speeds , based on their own resources ,

infrastructure and development priorities .

This is especially true in emerging

economies , where energy security and

affordability remain critical enablers of

growth . Despite this reality , our new

South African malthouse will produce

approximately 50 % less emissions than

the industry average .

Our malthouses around the world

apply the same high standards of

energy efficiency and operational

excellence , while being adapted

to local conditions . Each site ’ s

energy mix is optimised to balance

emissions reduction , reliability and

cost . The design for South Africa

is a strong example of this , and

delivers a 50 % reduction in CO ₂

emissions .
