ABOUT US
Sustainability Report 2025 Malting a world of difference
THE MALT VALUE CHAIN
PARTNERING
WITH FARMERS
1 . Our agronomy teams anticipate climate
impacts by developing the most suitable
barley varieties for each region , collaborating
with breeding partners to build long - term
resilience together .
2 . We partner with and upskill farmers years in
advance of establishing malthouses in new
locations to ensure local procurement .
3 .
We support crop production , soil management and
the supply of agricultural inputs that determine
grain quality .
4 . Once harvested , grains are stored and transported
to our malthouses .
CRAFTING
QUALITY MALT
5 . Grains are steeped , germinated and kilned under
controlled conditions to produce malt with the
required enzymatic and f lavour characteristics .
By integrating artif icial intelligence and advanced
digital tools , we enhance water and energy
eff iciency and minimise waste .
6 .
Malt is transported to customers . As more than
90 % of our barley is sourced in the same
country where it is malted , transportation
distances are limited , helping to minimise
carbon emissions .
PROVIDING INNOVATIVE
SOLUTIONS TO CUSTOMERS
7 . Customers , including craft brewers , large -
scale beverage producers , distillers and food
manufacturers , use our malt as an ingredient in
their products .
8 . Products move through logistics , packaging and
distribution until they reach the hands of consumers
who savour the f inal result .
From field to first taste
From farming to f inal delivery , each stage of the malt value chain is interconnected and creates value through
collaboration , responsible sourcing and continuous improvement in product quality and sustainability .
