Bulk shipments of up to 1 , 200 tonnes

replace road transport , enabling

signif icantly larger volumes to be

moved with a lower carbon footprint .

While overall transport emissions across

the business remained stable in 2024 - 25 ,

this improvement initiative demonstrates

how shifting to lower - emission alternatives

has the potential to reduce emissions from

our logistics network .

This shift aligns with our commitments

under FRET21 , a national programme

led by the French Agency for Ecological

Transition and the French Shippers ’

Association . The initiative helps companies

cut freight - related GHG emissions through

better route planning , improved load

eff iciency and the adoption of lower -

carbon transport modes .

Transporting malt by water rather

than by road moves the needle on

carbon emissions . We have unlocked

a 250 - tonne reduction in CO

2

e by

shifting a major logistics route

between Nogent and Rouen , from

road to river transport . This reduction

is despite a 5 % increase in volumes

moved for France .
